Students from Space for Learning, experimented with scratching back into underglaze on a pre-bisqued tiles, or making tiles form clay and then decorating them.
The mural installation took place over three days in January 2020 Thank you to our assistants, Jenni Hinch and Leanne Cocker from the Devonport Mosaic Group, Birgitta Magnusson-Reid, Ana, Holly and Harriet. tiles were unwrapped and laid out on a sheet so we could choose the larger ones to begin with. Here is our blank wall! Lyn begins to place the first tiles on the wall. We are pretty excited to be at this stage and be able to do the installation.
